Dark Eldar Kabalites

While I have been posting about these new "battletomes", I have been creating warscrolls for the Dark Eldar, a.k.a. Kabalites.  These guys appear to be the most fragmented of all of the 40k armies in terms of having distinct sub-factions each with their own leaders and troops and whatnot.  I ended up classifying them into four different groupings.

1. Kabalites: Led by the Archon, Kabalites are traditional Dark Eldar mainstays like the Kabalite Warriors, Ravagers, Hellions, etc.  Every Dark Eldar unit has the Kabalite keyword, so they are a full faction, while the rest of these are sub-factions.

2. Daughters of Khaine: Led by the Succubus, Daughters of Khaine have Wyches, Venoms, and a whole fantasy Age of Sigmar faction at their command.

3. Abominations: Led by the Haemonculus, Wracks make up the core of the Abominations, supported by Grotesques, Talos, and Cronos.

4. Bestiary of Commorraugh: I ended up splitting the "Beastmasters" unit into a miniature faction because it just wasn't workable in AoS otherwise.  So the Kabalite Beastmaster can now lead an army of Khymerae, Razorwing Flocks, and Clawed Fiends if you so desire.

The first units I'd like to show is the Court of the Archon.  The Court was especially fun to design and took some creativity to work out the math on.

This is a pretty different design from usual because they have four totally different model types, so I did the best I could with what I had to work with.  This unit hits pretty hard (especially that Ur-Ghul), but on average only about as hard as Grave Guard (w/ sword and board).  It was hard to balance out because I had limited space for weapon options, so I rolled all of the swords together into Kabalite Blade, and differentiated the Sslyth from the Lhamaean using the Poisoned Blades ability.

This warscroll also shows the Splinter Weapons ability, which appears on most of the Dark Eldar warscrolls.  Since they are all about pain and poison, Splinter Weapons inflict an additional mortal wound when your opponent makes a save roll of 1.

I'll also show off Kabalite Warriors and Raiders.  I had to pare down the weapon options, but they can take Dark Lances, Splinter Cannons, and Shredders.

One of my favorite things about Dark Eldar has always been their grav-vehicles with dangling chains that catch people and drag them around.  So of course I leveraged that mechanic wherever possible.  The Raider has Chain Snares for that purpose, and can choose either Enhanced Aether Sails or Night Shields.  Night Shields may seem like the obvious choice, but notice that the Enhanced Aether Sails don't say roll two dice and drop the lowest, just to roll two dice, which would yield some pretty expedient movement.
