Twelve Days of Sigmarisnacht

Hey Everybody! I'm running my first Global Narrative Event, Twelve Days of Sigmarisnacht (December 1 - December 12). It's really easy to participate, all you need to do is find a friend, play this battleplan (you might want to get them a gift), and report your results here.
You can also follow the Sigmarisnacht Facebook page for updates and information about this and future Sigmarisnacht events!

AoS Game Day: The Treasure of Thindrongol Nuk

For something completely different, in July we had a skirmish(ish) Game Day.

"When the Necroquake rocked Efengie, it disrupted the Penumbral Engine concealing one of Sigmar’s Stormvaults; a sprawling subterranean duardin labyrinth with a single inscription over its gateway, “Thindrongol Nuk”.  A few days ago, a bandit hiding out in the Painted Spires stumbled upon the vault.  Although she returned to Reaper with the intention of gathering a crew, word travels fast in Efengie."

AnimosityI

Last weekend I ran one of the many Animosity events that took place around the world.  You can read up on it at www.animositycampaigns.com if you're interested in learning more, but I'll review some of its interesting facets below!

The Soulless Seas pt. 4

Last weekend, I ran A Storm on the Soulless Seas, the climax of Game Day Season 5.  We had a lot of fun and learned a few things about my homebrew naval battle rules.

Efengie Campaign: The Dawning of a New Age (of Sigmar)

The fifth season of the Efengie Campaign has begun!  In the past, players have told me that they'd like to see a continuation of the Efengie storyline (rather than expand to other mortal realms), so I figured I'd expand by taking a look at the larger world around Eucebium.  In the first Game Day of season 5, Eucebium has been dragged into a long-raging war between the neighboring regions of Kytos and Lamellia!

Efengie Campaign: Regions of War!

Book 4 of the Efengie Campaign will be ready to go in a few weeks, so I figured I'd share my take on Regions of War!

Efengie Campaign: Hallowed Portents

Last weekend I ran the penultimate Game Day of Efengie Season 4: Malign Portents!  We had a pretty excellent turnout, although not much army diversity.  Strangely, Seraphon have been on the rise in Efengie.  We had 3 Sseraphon players, 2 Legions of Nagash, Slaanesh, Stormcasts, and Troggoths!

Efengie Campaign: Return to Fort S'nak

With IradrĂ¼ll taking the throne to rule the Vale of Efengie from Fort S'nak, the powers that be decided to put her reign to the test.  Lady Vendetta had been biding her time at Pigstikka Peak surrounded by disgusting orruks and grots, so she was prepared to bring the pain.  In the picture below, Lady Vendetta and her giantess Galagar used their hammers (i.e. the Batter siege tactic) to knock down some walls!

Efengie Campaign: The Reckoning of IradrĂ¼ll

Last weekend I ran a Malign Sorcery themed event.  I also used a new army balancing mechanic that some of you might be familiar with... POINTS!

Fate of Hammerstadt

Back in May I ran a four round Skirmish mini-campaign set in the ruins of Hammerstadt.  It went alright, but I think that there was a lot to be learned from it.

The Arena of Kou'uch

On Sunday, we hosted the first real event of Efengie: Season 4.  After suffering defeat at the hand of Arkhan the Black at the Helfire Gate in Shyish (Coalescence: Malign Portents), the peoples of Efengie followed the Malign Portents to the Arena of Kou'uch, hidden deep within the Dark Forest.  Built long ago by the Seraphon, the Arena once served as a sacrificial altar.  It has lain dormant for thousands of years, but the portents have led soothsayers to its ruined steps.

Dark Age of Sigmar: Broke Down

In this battleplan, your cart has broken down in an eerily silent village.  As the sun nears the horizon the villagers, uncomfortable with the presence of strangers in their sleepy hamlet, begin to stream from their homes.  Thanks for the idea for the battleplan posted in the comments section.

Dark Age of Sigmar: Grave Robbing

What atrocities are perpetrated under the cover of night?  Even the dead are not safe from the ravages of the Dark Age of Sigmar.  A Brain, an Eye, and a Heart can fetch a high price at market.  They can be used to cast a forbidden spell, brew a noxious potion, or even augur a malign portent.

Dark Age of Sigmar: Against the Darkness

I like to imagine that the Dark Age of Sigmar is filled with grim survivors eking out a living in the inhospitable landscapes of the mortal realms (as evidenced by my previous battleplan).  These villagers take shifts stoking the fires that protect them from the encroaching darkness each night, keeping the horrors that dwell there at bay.  Sometimes, though, the things in the dark are worse than the occasional Chaos Spawn, or other twisted abomination that can be shot down with crossbows and put to the torch come morning.

Dark Age of Sigmar: The Reaping

Here is the first battleplan in "Heart of Darkness", the Dark Age of Sigmar supplement I'm constructing for AoS Skirmish.  For this battle, you'll need some frantic survivors to flee from the horrors of the night.

Campaign: Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim

If you follow this blog, you've already seen a lot of the content of this book, but the newest Efengie Campaign book is ready to roll.  Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim, a skirmish campaign, is now up on the AoS Downloads page.

Battle Report: The Terror that Came to Efengie

Last weekend, Lady Rheatrivix summoned her Slaaneshi patrons from the 41st millennium to the Vale of Efengie.  The Eye of Terror opened up and for a while time and space cracked depositing soldiers from the future, and leaving the kingdoms of Efengie scrambling to keep up.

Colossal Red's Hoard

At the end of November, we had an Age of Sigmar Game Day themed around raiding the hoard of the enormous dragon "Colossal Red".  Colossal Red comes from a D&D miniatures Colossal Red Dragon that sat, unpurchased, on the shelf at the FLGS for years.  It was such a fixture of the store that when the store owner made the first map of Efengie, he added a mountainous lair for Colossal Red.  In various iterations of the campaign, one could steal treasure from the horde, risking Colossal Red's wrath (she would move out onto the campaign map as an army unto herself, destroying entire banners as she moved).  You could slay her whelps and forge magical Dragonhide armour as well, which was done often because it was awesome.

A City Block

In the final battle of the Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim campaign, Skragnir has the Letter of Marque in hand, and has to run a blockade of enemies between himself and Castle Reaper.  This last battleplan is pretty much the same as the breakthrough battleplan in Hinterlands, but that's what we actually played at the event, so here it is.

Fight For Survival

Welcome to Part 4 of Big Trouble in Little Azyrheim.  We've hit the home stretch.  After being betrayed by a member of his own crew, Skragnir and his Arkanauts have to survive the night hiding out in the Murderwood on the edge of town.
